Dear FVAMC Academy Families – Asalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatu Allahi Wa Brakatuh,

I hope this communication finds you refreshed and ready for the 2025-26 school year. I look forward to welcoming all students for another fantastic school year!

Our first day of school for Friday classes will be FRIDAY, August 22, 2025 and our first day of Sunday school will be SUNDAY, August 24, 2025 In Sha Allah! We ask all the parents and students to gather in the Mussalla on the first day of school.

The FVAMC Academy team has been working hard this summer to make this upcoming year your best year yet. Some quick reminders:

  • Sunday classes are dismissed at 1pm. Please pick up your child at their classroom and take them to the musallah to pray Dhuhr in congregation.
  • Grade 7-12 classes (regular Islamic Studies / Quran session) will be offered Friday night from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
  • Arabic classes will be offered on Fridays from 4:50 PM to 5:50 PM for students in grades 7-12 and Sundays 9:50-10:50am for grades K-6th.
  • Assessments for placement in the appropriate Arabic level will be done at the open house and first day of school (8/22)and (8/24). Please note that no changes have been made to the Sunday Arabic program schedule.

The FVAMC Academy, in collaboration with Saint Joseph University, will provide two professional development sessions for FVAMC Academy teachers and staff. The FVAMC Academy will continue to offer the Parent-Teacher conferences, whereby parents will be afforded the opportunity to discuss their children’s progress and overall performance in the academy. The conferences will be held weekends of January 25 and February 1 2026.

We will continue to adopt a nut-free environment, as some of our students are severely allergic to nuts. Please ensure to avoid bringing nutty snacks and food items at FVAMC.

The safety of our children remains paramount. To ensure the safety of everyone, our traffic police are available at check-in, pick-up, and while classes are in session to direct traffic.

If picking up your child early, please let the teacher know ahead of time or call the office. Please come to the office first and someone from our staff will get your child.

Regular dismissal, parents MUST come pick up the child from the classroom. If someone else will be picking up your child that day, please let the teacher or office know ahead of time.

Parents of pre-k and kindergarteners who are new to FVAMC. If your child is in pre-k, the child must be 4 by Sept 1. If your child is entering Kindergarten, the child must be 5 by Sept 1. This is in alignment with CT State Department of Education. If you have not brought a copy of your child’s birth certificate to the office for us to review, please do so as soon as possible.

Lastly, we are looking to re-start our PTO committee. We need some committed parents to step up and volunteer. If you are interested, please reach out to me or any of the staff. We want to make FVAMC a place of learning, making friends and a second home for our children.

PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF / PICK UP FROM THE DRIVE LANE IN FRONT OF THE ENTRANCE. THIS PUTS YOU AND OTHERS IN DANGER AND IMPEDES A SAFE AND SMOOTH DROP OFF / PICKUP

The mission of the FVAMC Academy is to develop an enriched learning community that promotes academic achievement, leadership, and Islamic values. I am proud to be a member of this great community and can’t wait to see what we will achieve together.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of the teachers. I can be found at the office on Fridays and Sundays during academy time, at info@fvamc.org and will have hours on Wednesdays where I will make time to return phone calls and return emails.

I look forward to working with all of you this year!
